Need a Break?

Feeling tired, stressed, overworked and underpaid, anxious, uptight, frazzled, overwhelmed, depressed, worried, over-committed, not enough hours in a day, over-sensitive, can’t cope, need a massage, need sleep, want some space, need help, want some relief, need a holiday, want some peace and quiet, or just want a break away from the everyday grind?

Many people think that as soon as they have less on their plate, they’ll feel better.  If they could just find the right vitamin pill, or have that holiday they desperately need then they’ll renew their energy levels and everything will work itself out.

Others get sick – some quite seriously – before they give themselves permission to take a break. Continue reading

Changing Minds Really Does Change Lives.

How do you start your day?
What do you tell yourself about who you are and what sort of experiences you are going to have?
Are you enthusiastic about your life?
Is there meaning and purpose in what you do?
Are you loved and appreciated?
Are you open and receptive to wonderful things in your life?  Or do you simply expect the same old, same old?
We always get what we expect, so if you aren’t experiencing a fulfilling life in every area of your life, then have a think about it.  Ask yourself what you expect and make some powerful new decisions about how it’s going to be from now on.  After all, it’s your life isn’t it?  You’re in charge aren’t you?

Heal Your Life Classes – Change is Inevitable.

We are a couple of weeks into the Heal Your Life classes now and so far they’ve been pretty powerful.  We’ve already covered a fair range of concepts and ideas, the most prevalent of which seems to be the importance of opening up to change.

Were you aware that if you are not moving forward in your life then you must be moving backward?  There is no such thing as standing still.  Standing still is stagnating, and stagnating is the same as moving backward.

We’ve discussed Nasa’s definition of life, which is ‘anything that actively fights its own entropy’, and how important it is to make conscious moves forward in every area of our lives simply to maintain it, let alone improve it.

We’ve explored Neale Donald Walsh’s statement that ‘life begins at the end of your comfort zone’ and how exciting life is when we are on the precipice of new adventures.

We’ve explored the idea that it is safe to change and that we can choose which doors to close and which doors to open in life.

We’ve meditated and explored the world within where our truth resides, and then we explored the possibilities of opening up our hearts and our schedules to regular meditation and the positive impact that change can only have on our lives.

We’ve had heart to hearts with ourselves and put pen to paper in our journals and on our worksheets to uncover those areas of our lives that need some attention, and to determine what we needed most in each of those areas.

And finally we have connected with the others in the group who are also exploring new territory, by sharing some of our thoughts, ideas and experiences.

Change can be scary, but it can be awesome too.  And since it is inevitable, I vote that we throw ourselves into it and focus our thoughts on the wonderful possibilities associated with the changes that we are making.

Let’s really live our lives all the way to the finish line.

Beginnings and Endings – Happy 2012

I love the New Year, and the days and weeks leading up to it, because it is always so full of promise.  Possibilities seem endless and I love coming up with new and exciting ways to imagine the year ahead.

The thing is though, if nothing changes, nothing changes.

In other words, if you love your life just the way it is, and you want to experience the same things you have always experienced, then that’s just fine, and you shouldn’t change a thing.

If you want to experience new and exciting things, however, you have to change something.  Remember the definition of insanity?  It’s doing the same things over and over again while expecting a different result.

Perhaps you know exactly what you want from 2012, but perhaps you haven’t got a clue yet, so I’ve attached a link that will take you to a list of questions that will help you to define the types of experiences you want to have, and the changes you will need to make in order to have them.   There’s nothing like an outstanding question to bring about an outstanding answer.

Beginnings and Endings – Louise L. Hay – Heal Your Life.

Happy New Year everyone!

Are You Willing to Change?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o47IkUQmll8

Everyone has “stuff” to deal with.  We can’t often tell from the outside what’s going on inside someone, but you could safely say that most of us struggle with feelings of not being good enough to varying degrees.

In this beautiful movie, Louise Hay shows us how being willing to change is a great place to start in changing our lives for the better.  It all starts with taking the first step.

If you think that maybe you’d like to change and that you’d be willing to change, get your hands on your very own copy of You Can Heal Your Life.  You’ll know what to do next.

Meet Louise

One of my most inspirational mentors is Louise Hay. I first read You Can Heal Your Life in the early 90’s and have been continually astounded ever since by the accuracy of “The List” that rests quietly in the latter part of her book. In fact, I have referred to it so often I just about know every thought pattern behind every ailment on the “List”.

Apparently, the information was collected over a 2 year period in Louise’s counselling work life when she recorded her clients’ physical conditions as well as the correlating emotional issues they presented with.  After collating the information she had collected, Louise noticed a lot of similarities , and voila, “The List” was created.

Further to the similarities that existed between the various physical and emotional states, Louise found that there was another similarity that lied beneath every dis-ease – be it physical or emotional – and that was a feeling of not being good enough.

Someone else who has been a great inspiration to me in my life once said:

“The truth is what the truth is and we can’t help but recognise it when we see it.”

This is what I experience when I work with “The List” and with the processes that Louise refers back to time and again in order to bring healing to anyone and everyone who takes the time to do the work and build awareness of their own limiting beliefs.

If something isn’t working in your life, there is a lie that is holding you back from being everything you were meant to be.  Email me at deb@debfay.com.au to find out how you can move on.

Are you drowning in Clutter

After reading Louise’s meditation for November 12 Louise L. Hay – Daily Meditations – November 12, 2011 – Heal Your Life I was compelled to inspire you with some clutter clearing tips and tricks.

Clutter can be defined in the following ways:

  1. Spaces that are consistently untidy and disorganised
  1. A collection of too many items in too small a space
  1. A collection of broken or unused items
  1. A collections of items that we don’t necessarily like or worse that have negative memories attached to them
  1. Unfinished business of any kind.

Clutter is stagnant qi and it’s our biggest enemy as it impedes the flow of energy in our homes and in our lives, and depending on how much we have, it can literally stop us in our tracks.

Your home or work environment can appear to be clean, tidy and organised and still have lots of clutter lurking in drawers, cupboards and filing cabinets. Here’s a few ways in which clutter in your environment can manifest in your life:

  • A build up of clutter on someone’s floor can indicate depression.
  • A build up of clutter around the centre of a home can indicate a block in the flow of joy in a person’s life, weight gain and heart problems.
  • A build up of clutter up high can indicate an inability to think straight and headaches.
  • Clutter in your south east might be blocking the flow of good fortune.
  • Clutter in your south west might be blocking your ability to obtain and / or sustain an intimate relationship.
  • Clutter in your south might be getting in the way of that promotion you’ve been working towards.
  • Clutter in your west might be blocking your creativity and your usual ability to find solutions to any problems you might be experiencing.  There isn’t anywhere you can hide clutter where it won’t have an adverse affect on your life.

Bottom Line is that if you’re not adequately processing the “things” in your home, then you aren’t adequately processing the “things” in your life.

Clutter Clearing is an ongoing process of ensuring that the qi or energy in your home and in your life doesn’t become stagnant and start to drag you down.

Happy Clutter Clearing

Checking in

How often do you ask yourself ‘How am I feeling right now?’

How often do you stop what you are doing to really listen to the answer to that question?

Perhaps you check in all the time without realising.  Perhaps you only do it when you are feeling way out of sorts, or when your world seems to be falling apart around you, and you are forced to acknowledge that something just isn’t right.

Everyone is soooo busy making ends meet these days that stopping to ask yourself how you are feeling might seem a little self-indulgent and essentially a waste of time.

I think checking in is probably the single most important thing you can do for yourself

and

I think checking in is the best possible thing you can teach your children to do for themselves.

Feelings of overwhelm, anxiety, depression, being up-tight or cranky are all possible signs of being disconnected from your core being.  Overeating, smoking and other addictive behaviours are bigger signs of being disconnected.

I realised recently that I needed to check in with myself more often.  It is amazing what a difference a few seconds can make to my day.  Simply asking myself ‘How am I feeling right now?’, and then stopping to listen to the answer can change the course of my day and move me in a much more positive and much more productive direction.

If my answer lies in the positive range of emotions then I know I’m on the right track.

If my answer is not so positive, or worse, negative, then I simply ask myself ‘What do I need right now?’ and the answer tells me where I need to go next.

This probably seems too simple an act to be of any value, but this very simple move puts me face to face with myself regularly.  It’s really the only place I want to be in my life, and I know without a doubt that it’s the absolute best space from which I can love, honour and value myself.

So, how are you feeling right now?

The Human Race

Nobody starts the human race at the same starting line.  We are all born to different parents with various levels of skill, emotional maturity and intelligence.  We are born into various climates with a variety of opportunities and disadvantages.   We are also born into different political environments which can have a huge influence on our potential as human beings.  There are so many different dynamics involved and yet we still compare ourselves to others and often judge ourselves, or others, to be lacking.

The only person you ever really work on is yourself” ~ Louise L Hay

Accepting that the only person you are ever competing with is yourself can mark a significant turning point in your life.  Recognising your own starting line and your own personal growth and achievements, setting goals that are meaningful to you rather than for the approval of others, making decisions that are best for you and your welfare and your health – be it financial, physical or emotional – these are all attributes of someone who has decided to love and approve of themselves just the way they are.

My wish for you is that you might know the peace that comes from running your own race.
