Are you a conscious or unconscious creator?

James Rohn once said: “Success is something you attract by the person you become.”

So, this week I want to explore the question “Who am I?” and “Who am I becoming?” because how you answer these questions literally dictates the type of experiences you are going to have in your life and no one can have a rich, juicy life if their underlying belief about who they are says something different.

I wonder how much time you might have spent considering these questions and whether or not you are aware that you are answering them all the time in a multitude of ways.  Our thoughts, our words, our actions, our body language are always revealing what our underlying beliefs are in response to these questions.

The fact of the matter is that every experience of life is determined by how we might answer these two questions so it is really important to consider them, especially if you are not enjoying your life and you want to have new, more enjoyable experiences.

What I want to do today is take your awareness beneath the goal setting and the planning that usually takes place when someone wants to consciously create a better life, and look at where you might be placing unconscious limits on what is possible for you.

I want to help you expand your consciousness at a much deeper level so that the thoughts and ideas about yourself that flow from there will be more expansive and open you up to much greater things.

In reality, there is absolutely no limit to who or what you can be and if you think there is a limit, it is just a belief you have and it can be changed.  It is just a matter of understanding how we learn and how our brains are wired, and then having an idea of what we might want that we don’t already have.

Wherever you want to experience success in your life, you can literally achieve it by building neural pathways or hard-wiring it into your brain and then the experiences will follow.

Whenever we use the words “I am”, or some form of the same such as “We are” or “It is” we are on the precipice of creation and when we are aware of that we can consciously choose the words that follow, and as a result, the experiences that will follow.

A conscious creator has the choice of reinforcing what is (or what we think is) the current reality, or he can choose to be open to a new experience and follow “I am” with more expansive words and phrases that create space for those new experiences.

So starting to listen for when you say “I am” is the first step to becoming a conscious creator.

The next step to becoming a conscious creator is to consider ways to describe yourself and your experiences with expansive words and phrases.

For example, a Management Consultant I worked for many years ago used to say business was “unbelievable” whenever he was asked how it was going.  Sometimes things were not so good and sometimes they were great but either way it sounded like business was fantastic and it left everyone in the conversation, especially my boss, feeling empowered and full of possibility.

Another great example of expansive language is from Louise L Hay who in the good old days would never tell anyone if she was broke, even if she was.  She would say she was experiencing a temporary cash flow crisis which described what she was experiencing but created space for a new experience once the temporary was over, and of course temporary always ends because it is temporary.

Don’t think for a second that you have no power over what happens to you or how your life turns out.  It is a matter of cause and effect or karma and what you put out you get back. If someone asks how things are going, you don’t have to lie but try using positive and expansive words to describe yourself and your experience because it has an enormous impact on your experience from that point forward.

Think in terms of the energy you are putting out because that is the secret to creation.  A high energy output will bring about a high energy return while a low energy output will reap a low energy return.

The third thing you have to do to be a conscious creator is become aware of the energy you are putting out through your physical actions and your body language.  If you have to be somewhere, be there.  Resistance shows in our body language.  And just like the words we choose, high physical energy output will bring about a high energy return while a low energy output will reap a low energy return.

Which leads to the fourth thing you need to do to become a conscious creator. Check that your intentions are aligned with the outcome you want to achieve.  If you want to receive more love in your life, give more love, but do it with a loving heart and not with a fearful heart because if you give from a place of fear or luck, you will reap more fear or lack, not more love.

If you want more financial freedom, stretch yourself by giving more than you are comfortable with and do it with love and hope and joy so that you reap an abundance of love and hope and joy in return.

Intention is soooooo important.

This is where the hard-wiring takes place and where we literally build neural pathways that lead to far greater possibilities and better experiences.

To date your experiences have been dictated to you by the experiences you had growing up – what you saw, what you heard, what you were told and what you did.  Your expectations therefore are hard-wired into the grey matter inside your head.

If you want to have new experiences you must see yourself having new experiences.  If you can’t see it you will forever believe you can’t do it or have it or be it.

The good news however is that you don’t have to see it happen in reality.  Seeing it in your mind’s eye has the same effect and will build the same neural pathways that a real live situation will build.

It’s magic.
