I have had so much going on in my life of late and I have been doing a bit of travel which is always exciting and I love it, but it tends to take me out of my routine and out of my comfort zone which in turn can take me away from myself because I become so outward focused.
This then leads me to feeling disconnected, anxious and lonely and while it still amazes me that I can feel lonely when I am surrounded by lots of people, that is what happens.
So, as I take time out to reconnect with myself today, I am wondering how many other women are so busy in their lives that they feel disconnected, anxious and lonely.
How many have lost touch with who they are, what they really want and where they really want to go because they are still busily following the directions they – or life – set for them a long time ago. Perhaps even years or a lifetime ago.
So this blog is all about emotionally recalibrating. Just like a GPS when you take an unexpected turn, you can very quickly re-evaluate your position and get back on track so that the way you are living isn’t at the cost of your relationship with you.
Your journey should be all about you, so here are some questions you can ask yourself that will get you back to feeling connected, safe and loved on the inside, regardless of what is going on on the outside.
A great place to start is to check in right now. How are you feeling in this moment? You might be surprised to learn that you are feeling something you weren’t aware of and as a result it might change the course of your day in a really positive way.
Then just keep talking to yourself like you care. It’s just like having a conversation with anyone else really only it’s very personal and you can be as honest as you want without worrying about judgment or conflict. You are just giving yourself a chance to get to know yourself again.
Here are some other questions you can ask that will help you rebuild and sustain a healthy relationship with yourself:
How do you feel about what you are doing?
What you would like to feel?
What would you like to be doing right now?
What would inspire you right now?
What do you need from yourself?
Are you happy?
Is being happy important to you?
What makes you feel good?
What are your favourite things in life?
What would you change in your life if you had the chance?
How would you change yourself if you had the chance?
Who matters to you? And why?
Do I look after myself?
Is there a lot of love in my life?
How do I stop myself from getting the most out of life?
There are a number of questions you can ask yourself and if you talk to yourself as if you are a stranger you will know what to ask and what interests you about yourself.
Regular journalling is great way to ensure you spend time in this space of connection and discovery and it’s something I have done for almost 40 years. Is that something you would like to make time for?
And of course, meditation is also a great way to help yourself feel connected, safe and loved and as little as 15-20 minutes a day, most days, is beneficial.
If you are interested in taking up journalling you can grab a Juicy Life Journal for yourself in the Juicy Life Shop.
If you are interested in learning about meditating you can grab my free eBook The Value Of Meditation And Why You Should Be Doing It here and you can join my free ONLINE Women’s Meditation Circle on the 1st Wednesday of each month by registering here. I would love for you to join me there.
There are also lots of free meditations on my SoundCloud page that you can listen to as many times as you like.
Until next time…
